Home: Meesor-Gamma, the third and smallest moon of the planet Meesor. While Meesor’s surface is a barren wasteland practically devoid of life, within it’s heart lie valuable minerals and oil used for ship building and space travel. Most of the people who live on Meesor and it’s three moons work on extracting these valuable resources. However, the working conditions are dangerous and the pay is just barely enough to get by. Meesor-Gamma in particular is more rundown compared to its sisters Meesor-Alpha and Meesor-Beta. It’s usually seen as a pitstop for space farers to gather supplies and refuel before heading off. Machi lived with her mother Selma and her older brother Eden, running a repair shop in the business sector of Meesor-Gamma. They became a very tight-knit family after the death of Machi’s father, Oscar, who used to work in the mine on the home planet. They are determined to stick together through thick and thin.
Description/Backstory: One day, Eden decided to leave the Meesor system altogether in order to join Union and hopefully send back enough money to build a better life for the family. Although Selma and Machi were very reluctant to see him go, they knew it would be foolish to throw this chance away. Eden promised to keep in touch, before setting off on his journey. That fated day was years ago for Machi. And in all that time, she hadn’t heard a single word from her dear brother. Did he lie to her and their mother? Did he just abandon them in this dying town, while keeping all of his earnings for himself? No, he couldn’t have. Eden was the most loving and honest person she had ever known. A man who valued his own family above all else wouldn’t do such a thing. In that case, did something more terrible happen to him? Did he lose his way? Was he… dead? Machi refused to believe these horrible thoughts, and so she made it her mission to track Eden down and bring him home, no matter what it takes. She left Meesor-Gamma to become a mercenary, knowing that they often had the privilege of journeying through the cosmos for various jobs. For several years, she would work for many corporations, following even the faintest lead she had on her brother’s whereabouts, hoping against all odds that she would find him alive and well. After a traumatic experience with her merc group, she decided being a Lancer would allow her more independence and access to key information that might help her find Eden. Her intricate knowledge of various mech frames from her time working in her family’s repair shop, along with the experience she earned in direct combat as a merc, gave her the edge she needed to pass her training and earn her license.
Best Memories - Machi’s best memories are the times she spent with Eden. The two were best friends and would do almost everything together. Their favorite shared activity as kids was catching fish and other critters in a river near their shop. Machi often dreams about going on a fishing trip with her brother once she finally finds him. It’s one of the only things that keeps her going.
Worst Memories - At some point in her career, Machi used to work with a group of other mercenaries who traveled around doing odd jobs for various companies. That was, until, a conflict broke out within the group, nearly killing several members, including Machi herself. The experience was bad enough that Machi went into hiding, pausing her search in order to shake off her old crew. Only recently did she decide to leave her old life behind and become a Lancer, vowing to never be taken advantage of or scared off from her primary goal ever again.
